JJ is a sweet boy who is still a little unsure of all of the recent changes in his life. This six-year-old is a curious guy, but still somewhat tentative of people. He will sometimes ask to be pet when you are sitting quietly, but does get nervous with fast movements or unexpected noises. JJ loves toys and playing with other dogs, though, and that’s when we can see is true personality shining through! He has recently become braver on the leash, but it is still a work in progress, and his new family will need to be patient with him while he keeps learning. He is most comfortable when he is around other dogs, and we think it would be best for him to go home with a confident and tolerant dog who can act as a mentor to him. We also think JJ would prefer a quieter home with older or no children, at least to start. He will need a very special and understanding adopter who is willing to spend the time helping him work through his fears, but we are sure he will reward them with unconditional love and adoration!
